THE PHILOSOPHY

The impact of Upward Farm extends far beyond the field.

Through partnerships with Upward Kitchens, Upward Café at The Nook, and a growing network of community organizations, the food we grow finds its way directly into programs that nourish people across Nova Scotia.

Our harvests support chef-prepared meals, community dinners, educational initiatives, and food access programs designed to ensure good food reaches those who need it most. From the School Food Program and Sharpen Up youth cooking classes to The Nook's Daily Meal and Token Program, every harvest becomes part of something bigger than the farm itself.

By connecting local agriculture with community-based food programs, we're helping build a food system where fresh, nutritious food is not only grown locally, but shared locally.

MARK BRAND

Upward Farm is building a stronger local food system from the ground up.

We grow food, support farmers, create opportunities, and connect communities through agriculture. From our farm to local kitchens and dinner tables, every harvest is part of a bigger mission: making good food more accessible, sustainable, and community-driven.

Helping children build confidence inside and outside the kitchen through hands-on cooking education, mentorship, and food literacy.
